Septic Permits & Information
When installing a new septic system or repairing or replacing an existing system, owners will need to hire a Licensed Septic Contractor . Typically, the contractor will complete the permits, with your assistance, and submit the permit application to the Sangamon County Health Department for you. Additionally, owners are required to hire a Licensed Soil Scientist to interpret how the soil will respond when subjected to various uses and management. This step is necessary to determine the best type of system and manner in which it is installed to lengthen the life of your system and make the best use of your investment.
