The Sangamon County Department of Public Health is seeking applicants to perform the duties of a part-time Clerk Typist I at the Animal Control Center.  Excellent communication skills, phone etiquette, cheerful personality and data input skills are needed in this fast-paced setting.  Dependability, honesty and ability to work with the public a MUST! Must be a Sangamon County resident and have a valid Illinois driver’s license and proof of auto insurance.

 

Salary:                        Grade 3.  Salary: $9,767.37 annually

ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICER I

 

The Sangamon County Department of Public Health is seeking applicants to perform the duties of an Animal Control Officer I.  Must be an experienced animal handler to investigate complaints of stray and vicious dogs, investigate bite incidents, enforce Sangamon County ordinances that pertain to animal control, investigate claims of livestock injured or killed by dogs, assist public in viewing animals impounded at facility, and assist with kennel maintenance.  Dependability, honesty, ability to work with the public a MUST!   Must be a Sangamon County resident, have a valid IL driver's license and proof of personal automobile insurance.  Requires the ability to work an on call rotation including evenings, weekends, and holidays. 

                       

Salary & Benefits:     Grade 5: $23,882 - $28,659 annually.  Health, dental, and life insurance, paid vacation and sick leave and uniforms provided.

HEALTH EDUCATOR

 

 

The Sangamon County Department of Public Health is seeking applicants to perform duties as a Health Educator.  Duties include performing and coordinating public presentations, preparing and disseminating materials, and coordinating grants as instructed.  This position requires a B.S. or B.A. in health education or behavioral or biological science, a valid class D Illinois driver’s license, use of personal automobile and proof of auto insurance.  Must be a Sangamon County resident and have the ability to work evenings and weekends as assigned.  Experience with public speaking, youth programs, power point and web design is desirable.  

 

 

Salary & Benefits:                 Grade 8:  $30,792 –  $36,950 annually.  Health, dental and life insurance, retirement, paid vacation and sick leave and mileage reimbursement.

Personal Health Services:

REGISTERED NURSE/CASE MANAGER

 

 

The Sangamon County Department of Public Health is seeking applicants to provide case management services and other duties primarily in the Illinois Breast and Cervical Cancer Program.  Experience in oncology is preferred.  This position requires a current State of Illinois registered nursing license, a valid Class D Illinois Driver’s License, use of personal automobile and proof of auto insurance.  Must be a Sangamon County resident and able to work evening and weekend clinics as assigned.

 

This position is contingent upon future grant funding.

 

Salary & Benefits:                 Grade 11:  $37,700 - $45,241 annually. Health, dental and life insurance, retirement, paid vacation and sick leave and mileage reimbursement.
